LONDON, -------------2003 – Celebrating it’s 40th year of family fun and continuing with the tradition of growth through the years East Park has purchased the heart of Wally World with the acquisition of Wally World’s 55’ high 5 slide tower and the wave pool generating equipment.
The first phase of the project calls for the installation of the water slide tower and the 5 slides along with the development of a new themed Kid’s Water Play attraction for children of all ages. The project will be phased in over several stages including the return of the wave pool followed by new waterslide attractions. Neil Kapp, one of East Park’s owners said, “this project fits in with our ongoing commitment to be London’s finest family recreation destination”. Plans call for a spring or summer opening of the first phase.
The 5-slide tower features 2 body flumes, 2 extreme speed slides and a tube ride. “It would have been a shame if all the slides left town. We wanted to ensure that Londoners could still enjoy the ever-popular 5-slide tower and use this as a springboard for the development of a new London Water Park’” said Kapp.
The new Water Park area will be known as Wally World at East Park and will compliment the existing seasonal and year-round attractions. Combined with 7 picnic areas East Park will be able to host London’s families, businesses and organizations with a full package of entertaining activities, picnic grounds, catered BarBQ meals and do it all in a beautiful park like setting.
East Park is located on Hamilton Road in London, just east of Highbury. In addition to an 18 hole executive golf course, East Park features a driving range, 36 holes of mini-golf, batting cages, waterslides, go-karts and a year-round indoor facility featuring rock climbing, bumper cars, video games and a kid’s jungle gym.
